Health & Safety Officer

Gulf Model School, a well-established CBSE institution, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Health & Safety Officer. This role is crucial for ensuring the implementation of all safety protocols and regulatory compliance across the school campus, providing a safe and nurturing environment for students and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and monitor the school’s Health & Safety policies and procedures in line with UAE laws and KHDA/MOE/DM requirements.
• Conduct regular risk assessments and safety inspections across school facilities, including transportation, laboratories, playgrounds, and common areas.
• Maintain accurate records of incidents, accidents, and near-misses; recommend and follow up on preventive measures.
• Plan and execute emergency preparedness drills (fire, evacuation, lockdown, etc.) and ensure staff and students are trained on safety practices.
• Coordinate with Government authorities (Dubai Municipality, DHA, Civil Defense, etc.) to ensure full compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Support the School Clinic and handle student/staff health-related concerns in collaboration with the Nurse and Senior Leadership Team.
• Oversee safe usage and storage of chemicals and equipment in laboratories and maintenance areas.
• Ensure school buses and drivers comply with RTA, School Transport & Safety guidelines.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• NEBOSH / IOSH qualification or equivalent certification is required.
• Minimum 2–3 years of experience in Health & Safety, preferably in a school or educational environment.
• Strong knowledge of UAE Health & Safety standards and regulatory frameworks.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.
