📌 Job Description

Melia Desert Palm, a luxurious five-star boutique resort and member of The Melia Collection, is seeking a Lifeguard to ensure guest safety at the pool and aquatic facilities. The resort features private villas, equestrian-themed amenities, world-class Samana Spa, wellness classes, and multiple dining options.

The Lifeguard will monitor pool activities, enforce safety regulations, provide emergency response, and deliver excellent guest service in a professional and proactive manner.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Monitor swimmers and enforce pool rules consistently.
  • Rescue swimmers in danger and administer first aid if needed.
  • Remove distressed swimmers and perform resuscitation at poolside if necessary.
  • Test and regulate water temperature, pH levels, chlorine, and hygiene standards.
  • Ensure availability and proper maintenance of emergency equipment (rescue tubes, backboards, signs, etc.).
  • Caution swimmers regarding unsafe practices and hazards.
  • Maintain order and cleanliness in the pool and surrounding areas.
  • Provide general information about pool operations to guests.
  • Teach swimming lessons as required.
  • Complete necessary paperwork and follow all emergency action plans.
  • Adhere to company policies, including fire, hygiene, health, and safety regulations.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the management team.

🎯 Skills & Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a Lifeguard role.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be physically fit and a strong, competent swimmer.
  • Valid Dubai Lifeguard License.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Ability to enforce swimming pool rules in a firm yet considerate manner.
  • Good eyesight and high concentration levels.
  • Ability to react quickly and efficiently in life-threatening situations.
  • Positive attitude and teamwork mindset.
