Job Description

The Doorman is the first and last impression of Fairmont The Palm, responsible for providing a gracious, professional welcome and ensuring the smooth, safe flow of guest arrivals and departures at the hotel entrance. This role requires exceptional courtesy, efficiency, and full knowledge of resort activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Welcome guests and assist them in/out of vehicles by opening doors in a gracious and courteous manner.

  • Extend particular assistance to children, the elderly, and disabled guests.

  • Direct the flow of traffic at hotel driveways, ensuring maximum safety, and coordinating with security for safety procedure implementation.
  • Inform guests of vehicle parking procedures and direct Valet Parkers accordingly; assist Valet Parkers in issuing valet tickets.

  • Handle guests’ luggage promptly and professionally, using safe techniques for both loading/unloading vehicles and transporting items to the lobby (this includes deputizing for Bellmen when necessary).

  • Confirm the correct number of luggage pieces with the guest before allowing the vehicle to move.
  • Be knowledgeable about hotel facilities, updated on promotions, and happenings in the hotel/city to provide accurate information.
  • Attend daily event sheet reviews with the Bell Captain and be familiar with regular guests.
  • Respond to all queries positively and report β€œLost & Found” items.

  • Ability to work cohesively with fellow colleagues as part of a team.

  • Physically capable of grasping, lifting, carrying, and/or loading luggage and packages.
