Job Description

Reporting to the Director of Engineering, the HVAC Technician is responsible for the skilled maintenance, repair, and installation of all heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems. This role is essential for maintaining guest comfort and operational efficiency within the luxury environment of the hotel.

Key Responsibilities:

Repair, maintain, and install HVAC and refrigeration equipment strictly according to departmental procedures.
Perform specialized maintenance on complex systems including Chillers, Freezers, split units, Air Handling Units (AHU), fan coils, and cold rooms.
Execute detailed Preventive Maintenance (PM) for the entire refrigeration system, as well as for all pumps and air conditioning equipment.
Complete service requests in a timely, accurate, efficient, and knowledgeable manner.
Be a self-starter, take initiative, and be capable of making decisions in a fast-paced, changing environment.

Qualifications and Skills

Minimum of two years of experience in the same position with a trade certificate in A/C and Refrigeration (HVAC).
Reasonably high level of knowledge and skill in Air conditioning, Refrigeration, and Electrical systems.
Must have the ability to multi-task and possess a strong foundation in all engineering areas.
Proven knowledge and skills to effectively work with and maintain Chillers, Freezers, split units, AHU, fan coils, and cold rooms.
Ability to repair and maintain A/C air handling units, fan coils, and cold storage/refrigerators.
Knowledge of preventive maintenance procedures and the use of test equipment.
Proficient in the English language (verbal & written); a second language is an asset.
