School Counselor

Rushmore American School is seeking a dedicated and compassionate School Counselor to support the emotional, academic, and social development of students across all grade levels (KG–Grade 12). This is an on-site position based in Sharjah.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide personal, academic, and social counseling for students (KG–Grade 12) individually and in groups.
• Guide students in setting academic, personal, and career goals, including university admissions guidance.
• Identify and support students in need through collaboration with teachers and staff.
• Maintain accurate, confidential records of counseling sessions and interventions.
• Develop and lead student wellness programs, workshops, and awareness campaigns.
• Contribute to safeguarding and child protection procedures and Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) initiatives.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field is mandatory.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a school counseling or student support role (school-based experience preferred).
• Strong knowledge of child and adolescent development.
• Familiarity with the American curriculum and college admissions process is an advantage.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• High level of professionalism, confidentiality, and empathy.
