Job Description
The Commis Chef is the most junior member of the kitchen brigade and works under the direct supervision of a Chef de Partie. This role is crucial for maintaining kitchen organization and cleanliness while gaining essential cooking skills.
Skills & Requirements
- Experience: 0â1 year of experience in a professional kitchen, or completion of a culinary school program.
- Education: Culinary certificate or diploma preferred.
- Skills:
- Basic knife skills and proficiency in general food preparation (cutting vegetables, preparing garnishes, washing, and peeling).
- Ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately.
- Knowledge of basic food hygiene and safety standards (HACCP).
- Willingness to learn and a strong work ethic.
