Job Description
The Commis I is a foundational role, supporting the Pastry Chef and Chef de Partie in all aspects of daily production. Responsibilities include preparing ingredients, performing basic pastry and baking tasks (e.g., mixing batters, kneading dough, simple decorations), maintaining station cleanliness, and ensuring all raw materials are properly stored and organized.
Key Skills & Qualifications:
- Prior experience as a Commis or Trainee in a professional kitchen or bakery is highly advantageous.
- Basic to intermediate knowledge of pastry and baking fundamentals.
- Strong work ethic, enthusiasm, and willingness to learn and follow instructions accurately.
- Ability to handle kitchen equipment safely and maintain high standards of personal and kitchen hygiene.
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
