he Head Barista is the technical leader of our coffee program. You will ensure that every cup served at Knot Bakehouse reflects our commitment to specialty coffee excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Technical Leadership: Lead the beverage station, ensuring all coffee, tea, and signature drinks are prepared to exact SCA (Specialty Coffee Association) standards.
- Menu Development: Collaborate with management to design seasonal coffee menus and signature beverages that align with the brand identity.
- Quality Assurance: Calibrate grinders multiple times daily and monitor espresso extraction variables (time, weight, temperature) for consistency.
- Staff Training: Conduct regular training sessions for senior and junior baristas on latte art, manual brewing, and customer service.
- Equipment Maintenance: Manage the daily and weekly cleaning schedules for espresso machines, grinders, and water filtration systems.
Requirements & Skills:
- Expert knowledge of coffee bean origins, roasting profiles, and flavor cupping.
- Advanced latte art skills and proficiency in manual brewing methods (V60, Chemex).
