Job Description
The Kitchen/Laundry Technician is essential for maintaining the hotel's operational excellence. This role is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and proper operation of all kitchen and laundry equipment, ensuring everything is in safe, efficient working condition to support smooth daily operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out preventive maintenance and repairs on all kitchen equipment (e.g., dishwashers, ovens, refrigerators, ranges) and laundry equipment (e.g., washing machines, dryers, steamers, and boilers).
- Perform routine inspections and testing to ensure equipment functions at optimal efficiency and complies with safety standards.
- Respond promptly to breakdowns and service requests from the Culinary and Laundry departments.
- Maintain proper records of preventive maintenance schedules, repair works, and spare parts used.
- Assist in the installation, calibration, and commissioning of new equipment.
- Report major issues or repeated failures to the Duty Engineer / Engineering Manager for corrective action.
- Ensure strict compliance with all safety, health, and environmental standards while performing duties.
- Assist in energy conservation and cost-saving initiatives within the department.
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the workshop and ensure tools are kept in good condition.
Qualifications and Skills
- Technical diploma/certification in Mechanical, Electrical, or Refrigeration Engineering.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar role within a hotel or facilities management environment.
- Strong knowledge of kitchen and laundry equipment operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Ability to read technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and equipment schematics.
- Hands-on skills in electrical, plumbing, and mechanical repairs.
- Basic computer literacy for maintenance reporting.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and sharp attention to detail.
- Ability to work under pressure and be flexible with working shifts.
- Good communication skills in English; additional languages are a plus.
