Lifeguard

The Lifeguard is directly responsible for supervising swimming activities and ensuring the safety and well-being of all guests at the aquatics facility (pools and beach). This role requires constant vigilance, adherence to safety procedures, and the ability to act decisively in an emergency.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise all swimming activities and ensure strict adherence to all hotel policies, guidelines, and water safety procedures.
• Warn swimmers of improper activities or danger and enforce pool regulations firmly and courteously.
• Administer first aid in the event of injury, perform rescues of swimmers in distress, and administer CPR and/or artificial respiration if necessary.

• Evaluate conditions for safety and immediately initiate the aquatics emergency action plan as required.
• Inspect pool facilities, equipment, and water to ensure they are safe and usable.
• Assist in cleaning the pool and related facilities; assist with chlorine residual water tests and maintaining records of water quality and accidents.
• Resolve scheduling conflicts to ensure a safe pool environment when competing programs require use of the facilities.
• Report any incident or accident to the Head Lifeguard and/or Director of Security.

Qualifications and Skills

• Ability to be efficient and productive in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be able to swim 400 meters in less than 8 minutes (timed proficiency assessment will be required).
• Ability to work under the sun in temperatures over 45?C (113?F).
• Must have enthusiasm and possess excellent customer service skills.
• Enjoy working with people and possess a friendly and outgoing personality.
• Excellent communication and listening skills.
• Must be a reliable team player.
