Job Summary
We are seeking a highly professional and customer-focused Pool Hostess to deliver exceptional food and beverage service in an assigned outdoor outlet. This role is essential for providing a courteous, professional, efficient, and flexible service consistent with the luxury standards of the hotel and Kempinski's values, ultimately maximizing guest satisfaction and driving sales.
The Hostess reports to the Assistant Restaurant Manager or Restaurant Manager.
Key Responsibilities
Guest Service & Sales
- Service Delivery: Provide a courteous, professional, and efficient food and beverage service at all times in the assigned outlet.
- Menu Expertise: Develop a thorough knowledge and understanding of all food and beverage items offered by the department.
- Upselling: Have the knowledge and understanding to explain and perform upselling of all items, proactively offering alternatives to guests to enhance sales.
- Inquiry & Complaint Handling: Handle guest inquiries in a courteous and efficient manner. Immediately report guest complaints and feedback to supervisors and ensure prompt follow-up is performed.
- Hotel Knowledge: Be knowledgeable of all services and products offered across the hotel.
Operational Excellence
- Setup & Maintenance: Ensure that the place of work and surrounding area is kept clean and organized at all times.
- Procedures: Successfully perform the opening and closing procedures established for the assigned outlet.
- POS Operation: Be knowledgeable and able to operate the existing POS system based on the assigned trained responsibility level.
- Inventory Control: Monitor operating supplies and equipment to reduce spoilage and wastage successfully.
- Compliance: Understand and strictly adhere to the rules and regulations established in the hotel's policy manual, especially regarding fire, hygiene, health, and safety.
Professionalism & Teamwork
- Grooming: Report to duty punctually wearing the correct, clean, and well-pressed uniform (including appropriate polished shoes and nametag) in adherence to the hotel's dress code and Kempinski grooming standards, maintaining a high standard of personal appearance and hygiene at all times.
- Rapport: Maintain a good rapport and working relationship with staff within the assigned department and across the hotel.
- Adaptability: Perform all duties and tasks as required by the outlet and respond to any changes in the department as dictated by hotel management.
