We are hiring a Commis Chef for the Cold Section (Gardemanger), responsible for preparing salads, appetizers, cold sauces, and dressings. This position requires creativity in presentation, speed, and meticulous attention to freshness and plating standards.
- Responsibilities:
- Prepare all cold food items, including starters, salads, dressings, and cold platters, ensuring artistic and accurate plating.
- Execute preparation tasks (mise en place) efficiently to support the main service period.
- Manage and maintain the cold storage area, practicing strict FIFO (First In, First Out) inventory rotation.
- Adhere to strict temperature control and hygiene standards for all cold food handling.
- Support other sections of the kitchen when necessary.
- Requirements:
- Basic experience in a professional kitchen, with a preference for cold section exposure.
- Excellent knife skills and an eye for food presentation.
- Knowledge of proper storage and handling of perishable ingredients.
