Food Runner

The Food Runner is the essential liaison between the kitchen and the dining room, ensuring dishes are expedited quickly, accurately, and presented to the highest standard. This fast-paced role is key to the overall pace and efficiency of service.

Key Responsibilities

• Prompt Delivery: Swiftly and safely transport food orders from the kitchen pass to the correct tables and guest seats.
• Quality Check: Verify all plates against tickets for accuracy, appropriate garnishes, temperature, and presentation before leaving the kitchen.
• Dish Description: Clearly and confidently describe the dish components to the guest upon serving.
• Service Support: Actively support servers by refilling water glasses, delivering bread, clearing finished plates (bussing), and relaying guest requests to the kitchen or server.
• Cleanliness: Assist in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the kitchen pass area and service stations.

Required Skills & Experience

• Prior experience as a Food Runner or Busser in a fast-paced, quality-focused restaurant environment.
• High Sense of Urgency and the ability to work quickly and stand for extended periods.
• Physical Stamina to carry heavy trays and navigate a busy dining room safely.
• Attention to Detail regarding food quality, presentation, and seat number accuracy.
• Excellent Teamwork and Communication skills for seamless coordination between front-of-house and back-of-house.
