Structural Draftsman

Al Marwan Group, a prominent leader in the UAE's construction and engineering sector, is seeking an experienced and highly detail-oriented Structural Draftsman to join our Design team in Sharjah. This role is crucial for transforming design concepts into accurate, construction-ready structural shop drawings and layouts for major building projects.

We require a candidate with a proven track record of precision and speed, coupled with an excellent understanding of regional detailing codes and standards.

Key Responsibilities and Deliverables

• Structural Shop Drawing Creation: Independently develop and produce comprehensive structural shop drawings, fabrication details, and general arrangement plans for various building components (e.g., foundations, slabs, columns, beams).
• Revision and Accuracy Management: Implement revisions and modifications to existing drawings swiftly and accurately based on engineer feedback and RFI responses.
• Code Compliance: Ensure all detailing work strictly complies with international building codes, local Sharjah/UAE authority regulations, and relevant engineering standards.
• Inter-Disciplinary Coordination: Proactively collaborate with Structural Engineers, Architects, and Project Site Teams to resolve clashes, clarify design intentions, and ensure seamless integration of structural elements with architectural and MEP systems.
• Documentation Control: Maintain systematic version control and comprehensive records of all issued drawings, ensuring the project team always works with the latest, approved documentation.

Mandatory Candidate Requirements

• Education: Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of dedicated experience as a Structural Draftsman or Detailer, preferably within a construction or engineering consultancy environment.
• Technical Proficiency: Expert level proficiency in AutoCAD is essential. Working knowledge of 3D modeling tools like Revit Structure or Tekla Structures is a significant advantage.
• Regional Knowledge: Solid understanding of detailing standards and practices specific to the UAE/GCC construction market.
• Skills: Exceptional technical drawing ability, acute attention to detail, and strong verbal and written communication skills for effective team coordination.
