Job Description

Job Summary:

Hyatt Centric Jumeirah Dubai is seeking a Commis Chef – Pastry to assist in preparing and presenting pastry and bakery items according to Hyatt standards. This role supports the pastry team in delivering high-quality desserts, breads, and baked goods while maintaining consistency, food safety, and excellent guest experiences.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Assist in preparing pastries, baked goods, desserts, and confections according to standard recipes
  • Ensure mise en place is completed for daily operations
  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the pastry kitchen in line with HACCP and hotel standards
  • Support senior chefs in developing new pastry items and seasonal offerings
  • Properly store, label, and rotate all food items
  • Assist with banquet, restaurant, and in-room dining pastry production as needed
  • Operate kitchen equipment safely and responsibly
  • Collaborate with the culinary team to ensure smooth kitchen operations
  • Uphold Hyatt’s brand promise of delivering exceptional guest service

Qualifications & Requirements:


  • Diploma/Certificate in Culinary Arts or specialized training in Pastry & Bakery
  • Previous experience in pastry/bakery within a hotel or restaurant (internship or 6 months–1 year preferred)
  • Knowledge of pastry techniques, baking fundamentals, and basic decoration
  • Familiarity with food safety and hygiene standards
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Team-oriented with a positive attitude and willingness to learn
  • Basic communication skills in English
