Job Description

We are seeking a proactive and skilled Head Waitress (Senior Captain) to oversee and coordinate the dining room service. This leadership role is responsible for ensuring the service flow is seamless, training junior staff, and guaranteeing that every table receives attentive, precise, and knowledgeable service that reflects our luxury brand standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Service Leadership: Supervise, mentor, and motivate a team of waiters and service staff, conducting pre-shift briefings and ongoing on-the-job training on menu knowledge, wine pairing, and service protocols.
  • Floor Management: Strategically manage table assignments and service station coverage to maximize efficiency and minimize guest wait times.
  • Order & Delivery Excellence: Personally manage critical orders and high-touch tables, ensuring complete accuracy from order-taking to presentation and delivery.
  • Menu Expertise: Maintain comprehensive, expert-level knowledge of the food and beverage menus, including ingredients, allergens, preparation methods, and the story behind Belcanto's offerings.
  • Quality Control: Conduct continuous checks of the dining area, ensuring cleanliness, correct table settings, and presentation adhere to 5-star standards.
  • POS Management: Ensure accurate use of the Point-of-Sale (POS) system for billing, order modification, and reporting.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Proven Experience: A minimum of 3-4 years of proven experience as a Waitress, Senior Captain, or Head Waitress in a luxury hotel F&B division or a renowned fine dining restaurant.
  • Leadership & Mentoring: Demonstrable leadership skills with a track record of training and motivating service staff to achieve performance targets.
  • Team Player: Possesses a consistently positive attitude, excellent energy, and the ability to foster a cohesive and high-performing team environment.
  • Immediacy: Able to join immediately or on short notice is highly preferred.
  • Technical Proficiency: Advanced knowledge of fine dining service techniques (e.g., wine service, plate presentation, clearing standards) and proficiency with standard restaurant POS systems.
  • Stamina & Dedication: Ability to maintain high standards of service and energy throughout long and demanding shifts.
