We are looking for a passionate and eager Commis III to join our talented kitchen brigade. Job Summary:
As a Commis III, you will be an integral part of the kitchen team, assisting in the preparation of high-quality dishes and maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and organization. You will work under the guidance of senior chefs, learning the fundamentals of professional cooking, kitchen operations, and food safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Food Preparation: Assist in the preparation of ingredients for cooking, including chopping vegetables, butchering meats, and preparing sauces and garnishes, as per instructions.
- Station Setup: Help in setting up and stocking stations with all necessary supplies and equipment for service.
- Cooking Support: Support the team during service by plating dishes, preparing simple menu items, and ensuring orders are completed promptly.
- Cleanliness & Hygiene: Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work station at all times. Adhere strictly to all HACCP and food safety regulations, including proper storage and labeling of food items.
- Stock Management: Assist in receiving and storing deliveries, ensuring proper rotation (FIFO - First In, First Out) to minimize waste.
- Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with all kitchen colleagues to ensure a smooth and efficient workflow.
- Learning & Development: Actively participate in training sessions and demonstrate a willingness to learn new techniques and recipes from the senior culinary team.
- Equipment Care: Handle kitchen equipment with care and report any maintenance issues to the supervisor.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- A certificate or diploma in Culinary Arts from a recognized institution is preferred but not mandatory.
- Previous experience in a professional kitchen is an advantage, but fresh graduates with a strong passion for cooking are highly encouraged to apply.
- Basic understanding of food hygiene and safety principles.
- A genuine passion for food and a desire to learn and grow in the culinary field.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong teamwork skills and a positive, willing-to-learn attitude.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends, evenings, and public holidays.
